Lyz Lenz is a journalist and bestselling memoirist whose work digs into the intersections of politics, gender, faith, and power in America’s heartland. Author of "God Land", "Belabored", and the acclaimed 2024 memoir "This American Ex‑Wife", she’s known for her incisive wit, unflinching questions, and nationally recognized commentary in outlets like "The New York Times", "The Washington Post", and her popular newsletter "Men Yell at Me". With a voice praised by writers like Rebecca Traister and Rebecca Solnit, Lenz brings humor, clarity, and a compelling urgency to conversations about identity, autonomy, and the stories that shape our lives.
This event is part of a Women’s and Gender Studies Lecture Series funded by the Mellon Foundation’s Affirming Multivocal Humanities Grant, which was awarded to Dr. Winfrey and the WGS program in the fall of 2023.
This lecture recording can be found on the Available Recordings page approximately two business days after the event and will remain accessible for three weeks.
The University Book Store will be onsite selling the speaker's books at the event.
