Gregg Hecimovich is the author of “The Life and Times of Hannah Crafts”, which won the Los Angeles Times Book Award, the American Book Award, and the Phi Beta Kappa Christian Gauss Award, was named one of The Washington Post's "10 Best Books of 2023," and was a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award and the PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award. He is currently completing his next book, “The Columbia Seven”, and his work has been supported by fellowships and grants including a 2025 Cullman Fellowship at the New York Public Library, a 2025 Guggenheim Fellowship, and support from the Hutchins Center at Harvard University, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the National Humanities Center. He lives in New York City and Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his partner and their two children.
