 nJeanne Hogarth is a program manager for the Federal Reserve
  Board in Consumer Education and Research\, specializing in 
 consumer finance. She will discuss ways people can become mo
 re financially competent in today's financial markets\, with
  a special focus on access and affordability of higher educa
 tion and student loan debt loads.\n--------------------\nHog
 arth has authored articles on electronic banking\, patterns 
 of financial behavior\, and connections between knowledge an
 d behavior in household financial management. She also prepa
 res consumer information materials with a focus on informati
 on that is clear and understandable. Hogarth is on the staff
  of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. Sh
 e worked previously with the Cooperative Extension System an
 d has taught at the university and high school levels. She h
 olds a doctorate in family and consumer economics from The O
 hio State University. \n\nThe Helen LeBaron Hilton Chair in 
 Human Sciences Lecture.\n\nEstablished in 1995\, the Dean He
 len LeBaron Hilton Endowed Chair is supported by a gift of m
 ore than $1.3 million from the estate of Helen LeBaron Hilto
 n\, who served as dean of the Iowa State University College 
 of Home Economics (now part of the College of Human Sciences
